Revellino del Porto is a spacious maisonette with astonishing and unobstructed sea view. It's located within the walls of Firka, in the heart of the Chania’s old town. Its history begins in the 16th century when the Venetians, in order to protect the city of Chania, built Revellino del Porto, a fortification against hostile attacks. Inside the walls the space was formed with appropriate buildings and warehouses. Revellino del Porto - the house - lies on the roof of the castle. It's windows and balconies offer a breathtaking and panoramic view of the lighthouse. It's position in the old town coastline offers easy access to cozy restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.

Outdoor Living and sightseen
The front terrace of the house is a 100m2 open area enclosed within the castle walls and allows guests to enjoy beautiful days and evenings by the sea. It extends over the Venetian coat of arms above the lion of Saint Mark, a small architectural geme, built in 1580 as the "guardian angel" of the Venetian city of Chania. This private terrace overlooking the sea, is considered an archeologically preserved space and has unparalleled view on the castle's embrasures and the lighthouse. On the right is the Nautical Museum, on the left, the entrance of the Old Harbor and the turret of the castle - a timeless symbol of freedom for Crete.
Enjoy a bird eye view from the balconies and veranda on the second floor, where the main bedroom is located. Indulge yourself in watching the sunrise and sunset over the sea. For a change of scenery, relax in our 15m2 covered veranda built over "Andrea Ritzou" street. This veranda offers panoramic view of the small, colorful cobblestones streets of the old town.
The construction of the house took place in the late 19th century. There are photos of the house in its original form since 1923. Since then, it has been renovated many times and by recent licence, it has been reconstructed according to the old plans and instructions of the archeological service.

Revellino del porto is located inside the fortress in the heart of the old town of Chania. It is only 50 m away from the waterfront, above the maritime museum, featuring scenic harbour view.
Enjoy old towns’ restaurants, cafes, bars and local music taverns. Visit nautical, folklore and byzantine museum, archeological sites, churches and ottoman monuments. Go shopping in surrounding boutiqueshops and explore art exhibitions. Go for a swim at the nearest organized beach - Nea Chora - which is only 8 minutes walking along the sea front and has a small fishing harbor. Walk across the old port coastline till you reach Koum Kapi "the Gate of the Sand" – a nearby area with many cafes, bars and restaurants on its small beach.
Yes, Revellino del Porto has a magnificent sea view. It is situated across the old horbor lighthouse, where the sea from the north is a naturalborder. Most of Revellinos’ windows, two of its balconies and the 100 m2 terrace have breathtaking seascape view surrounding the Firkas fortress. You can enjoy old town scenery from the other balconies of the house or relax on our spacious covered verada with the view of picturesque cobblestone streets.
Revellino del Porto is a large two-storey house with a loft. It has 3 balconies, a very spacious terrace and a covered veranda. Our visitors use all of its indoor and outdoor areas and facilities upon their stay.
Check in is from 15.00 and check-out is until 12.00. If you would like a different arrangement please contact us as soon as possible to see if we can arrange more flexible times, tailored to your needs.
By taxi or car it takesapproximately 15 to 20 minutes from Chania’s international airport or Soudas port. You can also use regular shuttle bus line transportation connecting Chania’s center either with Soudas port or airport. Upon request, we can arrange your transfer to and from the point of your arrival (either Chania’s airport or Soudas port).
